BCC Fibercell Paperpots
BCC Fibercell's paperpots were developed by a Swedish family company. BCC Fibercell paperpots are now used at nurseries all over the world. They produce the machines and associated materials in Sweden. Van Tuijl supplies these machines under licence and also offers advice and complete tailor-made systems for growers, including the complete range of consumables and after-sales. Making paperpots yourself offers a number of advantages:
- Serious cost savings over having ready-made paperpots delivered.
- Savings on staff by in-line automated cuttings.
- Simple control of substrate and paperpots.
BCC Fibercell's paperpots demonstrate their leadership in the development of propagation systems for all kinds of crops in different (climate) conditions. The products offer optimal solutions to all kinds of customers in the propagation sector. The propagation systems are sustainable and also meet the highest quality standards. At Van Tuijl, we add our knowledge and experience to the programme so that you get exactly the right configuration to optimise the yield of your business.

Paperpot filling machines
There is a diverse range of machines for filling Paperpots:
- The 1-row FiberCell Filler is ideal for smaller nurseries or for large-scale commercial research on a medium- to long-term basis. The machine is designed to operate efficiently with little downtime and minimal waste of peat in fine cutting.
- The semi-automatic FiberCell Filler is available in three variants: for 2, 3 and 4 rows. It has a filling capacity of up to 18,000 plugs per hour. The machines are compact and easy to operate and maintain. They guarantee years of production.
- The fully-automatic Fibercell Filler stands for customised production. The number of rows filled is self-configurable. The number of filling units is determined by the number of rows in the tray. Ideal for large-scale operations (up to 18,000 units/hour) with high productivity and minimum labour. This machine itself offers all main functions, such as paper roll feeding, heat sealing, media filling and paper pot cutting.
Fibercell plant paper
There is also plenty to choose from in the Fibercell paper range. Developments of new paper types and qualities are ongoing. Working closely with customers and partners around the world, including Van Tuijl, BCC Fibercell tests the various products in their research facilities. Currently, there are three product lines:
- FSC-labelled Fibercell Prime is suitable for crops that have a longer growing time. For example, tree nurseries like to use this paper. Prime Fast lasts for 2 to 4 months. Prime medium up to 12 months, depending on conditions.
- Fibercell Biobased is made from organic fibres and has all desirable ecological certificates. Suitable for fast-growing crops such as herbs and vegetables. Fibercell Biobased lasts for 6 to 8 weeks.
- Fibercell ECO is made entirely of cellulose fibres and is TUV-certified, among other things. It lasts 4 to 6 weeks and is suitable for herbs, vegetables and flowers.
Cuttings and sorting machine
The cutting and grading machine is equipped with innovative visual technology, ensuring consistent quality grading results. The flexible plant fingers are adjustable for different types of output. The throughput goes up to 900 cycles per hour and the machine offers the ability to handle small cuttings as well. The machine has a track and trace system for growing in containers and an automated data collection system.
Additional options
BCC Fibercell's programme goes even further. These include options for irrigation, substrate management and tray cleaning and disinfection. At Van Tuijl, we can advise on the various options and also how to integrate them into existing processes.
